#TeaserTuesday: A Boy is a Gun, Part II. #nook #kindle

Blurb:

The devil didn’t drag me to hell; I willingly went with him.

Being the baby mama of Atlanta’s notorious drug lord comes with unexpected perks. I’m protected at all times, and I have a nanny at my disposal so I can run my coffee shop. The other apparent setback, Cameron, aka Finesse, always has a target on his back, and in turn, so do I.

To protect my sanity, I had to break free from him finally. But now the question is, for how long?

Unedited Snippet:

“Your sister is a party girl,” I reply to Ethan, and he stops walking. “She loves a good party, doesn’t she? She’s always in the clubs, always at some baller’s home…she’s really popular with the athletes.”

Ethan turns to me and I feel the anger in his eyes. I glance down to see one fist curl up into a tight ball and he quickly releases it before he realizes I’m watching him.  “Be very careful, Page.”

I hold up my hands in defense. “I haven’t said anything wrong. I just said what is widely known. I have many followers on social media but Makayla? That’s her name. She has a ton. Like six figures.” I whistle. “Man, I could never be that popular.”

Ethan walks closer to me and is stopped by his partner. I look at my fingernails and continue. “I also hear she’s a bit of a peddler herself. She likes to party. A white girl is peddling white girl and egg rolls.” I shake my head. “Now, you would think that because you’re in the police department, everyone in your family would lean a certain way. You know the good old bullshit ‘stand for the cops,’ ‘blue lives matter,’ all that. Yet, even though your sister is known to have drugs on her at any given time, you don’t pay attention to that. I guess coming after the son of a well-known senator would make headlines, wouldn’t it? Get you that promotion. Get that Oprah sit-down and ask people how hard it was to choose between your career and your new family?” I lock eyes with Ethan. “And at what cost are you willing to pay for that?”

Ethan lunges at me, and I shake my head. “Temper, temper.”

“You wouldn’t destroy everything Taylor worked for just to get back at me, Page.” Ethan smiles. “You wouldn’t be that stupid. Or are you?”

I nod toward him as I stand up, and my attorney follows. “We both know Taylor left me, so that little guilt trip you pulled wouldn’t do shit.” I button my suit. “But here’s a riddle I want you to think long and hard about….” I walk up towards him, and people are standing between us in case one of us acts a fool, and it’s not me. “…what do you think will get your sister addicted the quickest? My product or my dick?” Ethan lunges toward me, and I blow him a kiss. “You have a beautiful day, detective.”

Things are getting spicy, aren’t they?
