Julian returns the favor by requesting her presence as he visits New York to see his family. While they pair have told their families their relationship is just platonic, no one quite buys what the music pair is selling.

Will the former lovers finally get past their issues and rekindle their romance? Or will it be business as usual?

I Knew You Were Trouble is a New Adult romance that deals with second chances and renewed love.

Unedited Snippet:

Kara groaned as the sunlight crept through the blinds, begrudgingly waking her up. With her eyes still closed, she reached over and grabbed her cell phone so she could see the time.

10:30 AM.

She shot up in bed, though she soon regretted doing so. Lola and Naomi convinced her to do some Scooby Snack shots and for some reason, she thought she could hang with her party cousins. She remembered everything up until shot #5. Everything after that was a blur.

Ugh, never again.

Of course, it’s what she said after she overdrank every time. She’ll never do it again. She’ll be more careful. Yadda, yadda, yadda. And she always broke the promise.

She looked down at her clothing and apparently she was coherent enough to get into pajamas and at least into her own bed. Thank God for small miracles. She slowly placed her feet on the floor and inadvertently knocked over the trashcan that was beside the bed. At least she had enough sense to put that there. She showered and headed back to her bedroom. Julian’s door was open and she peeked inside to see if he was there.

Empty. Just like the rest of the home.

Kara remembered everyone went into town to pick up last minute gifts and spoke about it sometime the night before between drinking and doing the Funky Chicken. They probably tried to wake her up but she was too hungover to care. Maybe it was for the best. She was sure to be grouchy and not in the best spirits while fighting those Christmas crowds.

“Were you looking for me?”

Julian’s voice startled her and Kara turned around. Standing before her was a shirtless and sweaty Julian. He wore workout pants and Nikes, carrying his sweat-soaked shirt in one hand and breathed heavily if he’d just finished working out.

His dark eyes sparkled with a simmering heat and his tongue darted out to briefly wet his full lips. A sexual tension hung between them and it was then Kara realized she was still in her bathing towel and that was it.

It was then her loins suddenly awakened by the screeching alarm clock her heart gave them while her brain was slowly loading a 12-gauge shotgun. “I…I…I was just looking for everyone.” She stammered.

“They all went into town to do some shopping. I decided to stay back and work out downstairs. There’s a gym downstairs.” He pointed back. “Pretty nice stuff.”

“That’s…” Kara’s eyes traveled to his washboard abs and erected nipples she desperately wanted to flick her tongue over. His honey brown skin begged her to caress it, softly calling out her name. Come play with me, Kara. “…that’s nice.”

Electricity surged between them and Kara stepped away from Julian. Tension cut through the air like a small tornado and even Kara wondered how long would it be before it finally took over them. “I should probably get dressed now.”

“Um, yeah.” Julian tightened his lips. “I probably smell like crap so I need to head to the shower.”

You smell wonderful. Kara remembered how Julian’s sweat and cologne turned her on as he drove into her over and over. She often buried her face into his neck when she was on top of him because she was addicted to the scent. Now the same scent penetrating her nose once again. “Yeah, I need to get dressed. Um, I’ll see you downstairs? I’m going to make cookies for everyone.”

“That sounds great,” he flashed that brilliant smile of his. “I’ll see you soon.”

Kara rushed into her bedroom and shut the door behind her. That was a close call. Too close. She didn’t need to be tempted by Julian again. She was going to put on as much clothing she possibly could without going overboard so he wouldn’t be tempted at all.

They were just friends, though Kara had to admit, it was becoming harder to believe that fact.

Fuck, I should’ve never came.

As the showerhead rained steamy hot water on Julian, he shook his head at his own stupidity. He sold the lie to Kara’s family that he stayed behind to work out but really he wanted to check up on her.

She had a lot to drink, probably more he’d ever seen, and he wanted to make sure she was okay. He undressed her, placing her into pajamas and tucking her in. He spent a good portion of the night checking up on her to make sure she was still breathing and left a trashcan by her side.

He cared. He cared too much.

Truthfully, he’d never stopped loving her. Even when other women were in his bed, they simply fulfilled a sexual need. None of them could fill the gaping void Kara left.

Now he was stuck with her for just a couple more days. It was going to be the longest 48 hours of his life.

Release date TBA soon. It is a standalone New Adult/College Age romance.

It’s not solid yet. It’s either Feb. 14th or March 1st. Yeah, I know it’s a long ways away but there’s going to be a lot of promotion with this so it’s a huge undertaking.
