I’ve been away for a minute; health issues had taken over as priority and I wish I could tell you all is well, but still going through it. When the time is right, I will update you on the comings and goings.
But for now, here is a sneak peek of a yet-to-be-titled and work-in-progress fiction due this fall. No date set yet but it probably won’t be until close to the end of the year. Merry Christmas.
“So are you seeing anyone?” He asked.
Is this your way of asking me out? If so, I’ll take it. “I’m not. Just dating around, seeing what’s out there.” Nina mentioned. “And you?”
“The same. I would love to have a steady girlfriend but I’ll wait until the right one comes along.” Morgan said.
“That’s good. That’s how I feel about dating. I’ll just wait until the right guy comes along.”
Morgan stopped chewing. “Oh? You’re straight?”
“Oh, I just thought you were gay.”
“What made you think that?”
There were many reasons that led Morgan to that conclusion. The fact Nina often read LGBT-oriented magazines and a member of GLAAD was just a couple of them. She never spoke of a boyfriend and had a feminist quality to her that wasn’t quite feminine but not quite flannel shirts and combat boots. Of course, Morgan couldn’t tell Nina that. “You’re very supportive of gay rights so I naturally thought you were. No offense.”
“None taken,” Nina relaxed a little, “my mom is gay so I guess her passion and enthusiasm for equality trickled down to me.”
“Strong and beautiful,” Morgan chimed in.
Will you stop making my panties wet? “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Morgan took a swig of his Coke and eased himself off the table, “just think about what I said.”
Not too shabby on the eyes is something I won’t forget anytime soon. “I will.” Nina followed Morgan’s lead and got off the table. She began to clean up the mess leftover from dinner until Morgan stopped her. “I’ll take care of this, Nina, you don’t have to worry about it.”
Such a gentleman. “Oh, thank you. Well, I’ll guess I’ll go over to the corner and finish re-shelving.” She headed over to a nearby corner and grabbed a couple of books. She began to climb up the tall ladder and misplaced her footing. She slipped but caught her footing just in time. Unfortunately, she ended up dropping the books in the process. Just my luck.
She began to get off the ladder and began to pick up the books. She reached for the final one and was surprised when she touched Morgan’s hand. They looked up and caught eyes with one another. “Thank you…” she breathlessly whispered.
“You got it?” He smiled.
“Um, yeah,” Nina felt a lump in her throat. Her body felt uneasy. The heat rose between her legs and she had a recollection of how all of those cheesy soft-core porn movies started out. She was waiting for the dimmed lights and saxophone music to start playing at any moment.
Her chance wouldn’t come, however, at least not that night. “Good,” Morgan picked up the rest of the books and set them on a nearby table, “let me know if you need any help.”
Nina softly sighed. Maybe she will go home and watch some Cinemax porn.
